Tiger Roll faces eight rivals in the Betway Bowl at Aintree

The Grade One Betway Bowl Chase at Aintree tomorrow, will see Tiger Roll bid to take another title and add to his list of victories.

Winning five times at the Cheltenham Festival and adding two Grand National’s, the “Tiger” has become a favourite in the racing world, across the UK & Ireland. Because of weight allocations, the decision was taken not to contest the Irish or English Grand National.

Instead, the owners Gigginstown House Stud, decided to take their chance at level weights tomorrow in Aintree. Tiger Roll is currently trading at 5/1 for the race which is run at 2.50pm and just short of 3 mile and 1 furlong.

The 11-year-old, now trained by Denise Foster, had been out of form since his second National triumph in 2019 before he bounced back with a convincing victory in the Glenfarclas Cross-Country Chase at Cheltenham last month.

Heading the opposition to him this week is 2018 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Native River, (9/2), who was fourth in the latest renewal of that great race.

Clan Des Obeaux, (5/2), is the current market leader and the winner of the King George VI Chase in 2018 and 2019, looks a formidable opponent – as does Waiting Patiently, (4/1), runner-up in this season’s King George and winner of the Ascot Chase in 2018.

Aso (50/1) for the Venetia Williams team, Clondaw Castle (7/1), Militarian (200/1), Mister Fisher (8/1), and Real Steel (14/1), complete the list of contenders for the three-mile one-furlong feature race.
