Tuesday 23rd JANUARY Horse Racing Tips from TURFFONTEIN

Hollywood Bets have recently entered the UK & Irish Betting market. Starting out from Durban, South Africa in 1999, they continue to grow.

Tuesday 23rd January

10.55 RACE 3 : TURFFONTEIN : JAVA HOUSE @ 4/1

JAVA HOUSE’S last two starts have been good. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. Warren Kennedy retains the ride and she should give the males a run for their money.

12.55 RACE 5 : FAIRVIEW : FERRARI ICE @ 3/1 PLACED 2nd @ 4/1 SP

FERRARI ICE lost a length at the start last time, but finished his race off well to finish 2nd beaten a head by Fat Cigar. He returns to the turf track this afternoon and with a bit of luck, he should be in with a great chance.
2.30 RACE : FAIRVIEW : EMPERORS DECREE @ 9/4 @ 11/4 SP

EMPERORS DECREE was unlucky in his last start over this C&D as he clipped heels at the 2f pole. The hood was re-fitted for that outing which may have done the trick. Richard Fourie takes the ride this afternoon and he may be able to get the best out of him with some luck in running.

Thursday 20th January

10.55 RACE 3 : VAAL : BLACK BURNER @ 4/1 PLACED 4TH @ 11/2 SP

BLACK BURNER showed very good improvement in his last start over this C&D. Despite jumping inwards at the start, he showed good pace before getting outrun late. He gets the services of capable workrider Chamu Mabaya and can go one better today.
1.10 RACE 7 : VAAL : VICEROY @ 13/2 EW PLACED 3rd at 9/2 SP

VICEROY ran a fair race in his last start over 1m 4f on this course in mid-December under Samuel Mosia. He is likely to have his own way in front again from stall two and may be hard to peg back.

Wednesday 19th January

11.50 RACE 3 : GREYVILLE : ONE SHOT WONDER @ 100/30 3rd @ 2/1 SP

ONE SHOT WONDER has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He should have finished closer to the winner last time but he hung in towards the rail at the furlong pole. The son of Visionaire may be at his best over this distance but he does have a wide draw to overcome. However, he does have early stall speed and that will allow him to get across without using up too much energy.
1.00 RACE 5 : GREYVILLE : BOOGIE SHOES @ 7/1 EW UNPLACED

BOOGIE SHOES’ last two starts were good. She had to overcome a wide draw last time, but the manner in which she ran on at the finish was encouraging. She finished one and a half lengths behind FLOWER SEASON in her penultimate run, but she is four and a half pounds better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. With a bit of luck in running, she can return to winning ways.

Tuesday 18th January

11.05 RACE 3 : VAAL : ROSE VELVET @ 13/2 EACH WAY UNPLACED @ 6/1 SP

ROSE VELVET has produced two fair efforts to date. She stayed on when finishing fourth over this C&D last time. She looks to be a progressive type and in this type of field, she can shed her maiden tag.

Monday 17th January

1.50 RACE 5 : KENILWORTH : KARIBA HALL @ 11/2 EACH WAY UNPLACED

KARIBA HALL was only one and three quarter lengths 4th behind Sudden Star at Kenilworth last time out over 1m 2f in November last year. Sudden Star has since come out and finished third in a Grade 3. Overall, he has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. He takes a drop in class here today and can notch up his third career victory.

Saturday 15th January

1.00 RACE 6 : TURFFONTEIN : RIVERSTOWN @ 7/1 EW UNPLACED

RIVERSTOWN finished 4 lengths behind BATTLE FORCE last time. He is over 12lb better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The 10-week break would have done him the world of good and if keeping on a straight line, he can return to winning ways.

Friday 14th January

10.35 RACE 1 : FAIRVIEW : AFRICANROYALJEWEL @ 5/2 @ 3/1

AFRICANROYALJEWEL showed very good improvement in his local debut over 6f on this course. He set the pace, but was outrun in the latter stages by Buttercup. The son of Philanthropist should have no issues with the drop to 5f. He gets the services of Nkosikhona Mpotye who has won a workriders race in the past and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

Thursday 13th January

10.00 RACE 1 : VAAL : UBIQUITAS @ 3/1 @ 3/1 SP

UBIQUITAS showed very good improvement in her last start over 1m on this course. She moved up well that day, but found one too good in the form of Watching Closely. The daughter of Futura looks progressive and she will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and the combination should go one better.
10.35 RACE 2 : VAAL : IDEAL WOLFF @ 4/1 2nd @ 7/2 SP

The selection is IDEAL WOLFF from the Heather Adamson yard. He was not disgraced when finishing third in his last start against much stronger opposition. The horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Ideal World is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe.
