Horse Racing Tips from UK Racing
Saturday 12th March
1.50 SANDOWN : THUNDER ROCK @ 6/1 EACH WAY UNPLACED The Olly Murphy trained Thunder Rock has excellent claims to take this prize and looks to be improving fast. He completed a hat-trick at Huntingdon last month over 2m 4f, readily beating Dorking Boy by a length and a quarter. This will be tougher and a Grade 3 Class 1 race but the manner of his victories suggest he can only get better. We rate him a value each way bet at his current odds. |
Sunday 6th March
2.55 HUNTINGDON : YAUTHYM @ 12/1 EACH WAY PLACED 3rd @ 18/1 SP Fergal O’Brien has his team in excellent form and we like the look of Yauthym in this. She won her third handicap over 2m at Hereford by a wide margin last November but was hit with a hefty 11lb rise in the weights. Last time out at Kempton, she tended to jump right at times but did close on the leading pair 3 out. She looked to be in a challenging position but was short of room and stumbled 2 out. Coming to the last, she hit the last and that looked to have cost her the race, having to be eased down. Just under 2m today, she rates excellent value at her current odds. |
Saturday 5th March
1.50 NEWBURY : ARMOUR de NUIT @ 12/1 EACH WAY UNPLACED This Grade 3 Class 1 Handicap Chase is just short of 2m 4f and has some interesting runners. Paul Nicholls has his stable in fine form now as the Cheltenham Festival approaches. He has two runners in this with Tamaroc Du Mathan and Armour de Nuit. The former is the more fancied of his runners and currently top of the market at 4/1, ridden by Harry Cobden. However, he has had a third wind operation and hasn’t quite shined since his return this year. In comparison, Armour de Nuit looks to be on the upgrade. On his last outing on New Years Day, he won comfortably at Musselburgh over 2M 4F beating Nietzsche by 8 lengths. This is a higher grade today but with continued improvement, will take a lot of stopping with Bryony Frost in the saddle. |
Friday 4th March
4.05 NEWBURY : STELLAR MAGIC @ 11/2 EACH WAY PLACED 4th The Phillip Hobbs trained STELLAR MAGIC should be suited by this step up to 3m and has the ground in his favour again. Last time out at Wincanton over 2m 5f he was a 7-1 chance and raced in mid-division, then ridden on the home turn to go 3rd 2 out. He kept on but hadn’t the pace to challenge, eventually finishing 4th of 9, five and a half lengths behind Sizable Sam in Feb. |
